NASA Unveils Design for Warp Drive Spacecraft

NASA and MIT as well as other institutions have proposed very interesting theories on how warp speed could be possible, and we have covered such ideas on the site.  Now, this video actually shows a proposed design for a warp drive spacefraft!

NASA scientist Harold White has spent a long time examining the plausibility of a space ship that can travel faster than light, and now he’s taken his research to the next level.

What does this design look like and how possible is it to make a prototype?  Wow this could be pretty incredible and the other challenge would be how to get back:

Let’s see what this spacecraft looks like in the video on page 2

Aaran, that’s a good point you bring up. Perhaps they would need to wear some sort of life-support on-demand suit (that only gave them what their individual bodies needed when their bodies needed it by constantly monitoring how they are biologically feeling – heart, lung, etc. issues resolved individually via the suit and ONLY as needed)… Its a thought anyway. I’m excited at the idea of long-range space exploration but of course WE would likely never see the benefits but perhaps out great-great-great grandchildren would. Its a risk I’d be willing to take.

If there’s no gravity, there’s no inertia. Aaron needs to review his science. With a slow build up of speed, the occupants would never feel the effects.
