Rubik’s Cube World Record is Broken..By a Robot

Of course the Rubik’s Cube fans watching the video are pretty excited and have some interesting comments.  Here is a question from JYC422

For someone who doesn’t know about rubik’s cubes, wouldn’t the time to solve it differ every time based on how many steps away it was away from being solved? So then how do you get a world record?

CaptainBlaze chimes in with a good observation

Every scramble on the Rubik’s cube can be solved in 29 moves but you get a world record by how fast your fingers are; to get faster cube movement if I do 1 turn per minute and I know how to solve it in 29 moves I solve it in 29 minutes if I solve it in 100 moves I solve it in 100 minutes but if I do 18 turns per second that results in a world record

This really is cool and the inventor says it took a year to build.  We won’t tell you how fast it finishes but it is astounding you’ll have to watch!

Thanks for watching the video and it really is amazing to see this iconic symbol of 80s pop culture continue.
