S.E.T.I. Scientist Wants to Contact Aliens By Beaming The Internet Into Space

Is this a good idea?

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence program has gotten renewed interest and this is one of their more out there ideas.  There is even a billionaire from Russia who is personally putting up $100 million dollars to continue the search.  The program originally made headlines in the 1970s and there are still some controversial “findings” that are discussed to this day.  One of them is about a crop circle entitled the arecibo message.  This particular crop circle was similar in structure to a coded message that we sent out into space:

They still don’t know who did it.

Let’s find out more on the plan to send the internet into space in the video on page 2

They’ll never see this for billions of years, and our species will be extinct by then. If we are going to communicate with ET we have to figure out some kind of faster-than-light coms

Seriously why are we looking for them? We know they exist, they know we exist. Shouldn’t the efforts be spent making actual contact, instead of “looking”

Yea! Nothing like sending other off-world humanoid types some comic relief. I mean look at us, we all sit and watch our government use our children etc… to become trained to murder other human beings from other parts of the planet, who by the way are our brothers and sisters, but we let this happen because our government leads us down a road of fear of terrorism then continues to suck the financial life out of us all while heavily subsidizing the military industrial complex, the too big to fail banking conglomerates, Wal-Mart, Monsanto etc… Sending billions,”Billions” of dollars a day of our tax dollars as relief to other countries and to finance murdering other human beings regardless of them be men, women, children, innocent or not. And we are so hubris to think some other beings are gonna want to visit this planet with such a seemingly over aggressive species on it.

They should beam some internet to my house, it would be a better use of the money. Why do we want to send aliens porn pop up adds anyway?

Uhhhh , they’re already here and they’re not ” ALIENS ” lol been here for years … Jeeze come on people , we’ve been working with them underground for a loooong time now … You don’t go from a locomotive to a u boat that damn fast and the whole deal with Pres Eisenhower meeting with them in the mid fifties is a whole deal in itself … All this stuff in movies and popculture is there for a reason … Question is , since they don’t have what would be considered a material body , they would have to grow one somehow , like in a tank and build some kind of techno organic body aka artificial intelligence which we’re probably scarely close to anyway … Behind the scenes they’re like 40 plus years ahead of us which could technically be looked at as who knows how advanced … Some people are in the know and some aren’t and if you research long enough you’ll come to a looot of interesting conclusions trust me … I remember reading somewhere , and heard this multiple other places as well , that some one high up in the military was speaking to a scientist that wasn’t completely in the know and told him ” If you’ve seen it in Star trek or Star Wars , we’ve already been there , done that and figured out it wasn’t worth the effort ” … And another thing were a another higher up said ” You have nooo idea where we’ve been out there ” … Don’t by this hype people , they’re already here and have been for a very very long time , they just have to wait for the right moment to strike …

I wish they would spend more money making our world a better place than to waste it on something like this… we should try to focus more on creating a better home here so that the aliens, here on Earth or out there in space, don’t think we are a bunch of wasteful, disrespectful assholes… just my opinion.

Given the fact that pornography dominates the majority of the internet, I could see our first contacts dialogue going something like, “Well, it appears these humans value reproduction. They would make for a great slave population.”

Horrible idea. The aliens are going to think Zuckerman is going to give them money if they share their facebook page. It could ignite an inter galactic war.

Beaming the internet into space is probably the dumbest thing I’ve heard yet. We need to know what our government already knows before we start beaming everything we are or have ever known into the endless expanse of the cosmos. There’s way to much we don’t know. I just don’t see how this would be a good idea in any way, shape, or form.
