These scientists pose the question of what if architectural stuctures incorporated these?  What if each tangible pixel could have the ability to perform 3D deformation?  Our spaces would no longer be static.  Could you imagine the possibilities?  The scientist states they would have three main criterea:

1.  Each one would need sensors to acquire signals generated by its surroundings

2.  Secondly they would need to be able to communicate with each other

3.  Third, that is equips actuating mechanism.  For example the color transformation or shape deformation.
