This Horticulturalist Makes a Home Auqaponics Using Arduino

This gentleman is fascinating and very creative.  He grew up on a Christmas tree farm and went to college to get a degree in horticulture.  He always wanted to start his own farm but that can be costly to manage, irrigate and fertilize.  Currently he’s growing cilantro, chives, onions, parsley, basil and other herbs and crops.  Managing so many crops even with his knowledge could be a bit overwhelming so he learned to program and build his own aquaponics system using arduino at the core.  This is pretty incredible and more sustainable than many commonly used farming techniques.  Another core component is transferring waste from the fish in his pond to fertilize the crops.
