This fun (and dangerous) science experiment was done at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.  They wanted to see what would happen when you take a can of coke and put it in hydrochloric acid. They also tested a similar can of coke and placed it in a basic solution of sodium hydroxide.  The cans they used are made of aluminum and the scientists wanted to run the same experiment on pepsi cans which would have yielded surprisingly different results.  Who would have thought right?
