Would You Wear Sneakers Made Entirely From Ocean Trash?

This is a bit more background on what they were thinking and what they have in store when they came up with these shoes:

“It’s a fishing net that was spanning the bottom of the sea like a wall, and killing pretty much every fish passing by,” said Cyrill Gutsch, the founder of a new nonprofit called Parley for the Oceans, in an interview with FastCoexist. Parley for the Oceans is being supported by Adidas.

A chemist within the organization is working on a plastic that would dissolve if thrown out into nature, potentially eliminating the problems that come with plastic altogether.

They even said if these are successful they may incorporate the process into other items like t-shirts.  Now that is really different.  Good luck in this project it seems very intuitive!  Check back here for further updates on this story.

Yes. However for every pair purchased, another pair should be provided free to the financially disadvantaged.

Global awareness begins with environmental action and is recognized through charitable consideration.

I am not suggesting that no profit should be made, however the present profit model is not sustainable.
