Would You Wear Sneakers Made Entirely From Ocean Trash?

That is one way to clean up the ocean..

Well Adidas made these…seriously.  It is just a prototype but very clever in its attempt to at least call awareness to the problems of oceanic pollution.  There have even been talks in the past year of clever devices that clean up the ocean and are also in prototype phases.  So if you are son inclined to take a cause and make a fashion statement out of it here is your chance.  Here is a bit more on the details of these shoes:

Apparently, creating shoes is one thing that we can do with it. Adidas has released a prototype for a shoe woven entirely out of trash found in the ocean. This particular shoe was made from gill nets that were illegally left in the ocean that were then collected by Sea Shepherd, a nonprofit aimed at defending sea life.

Let’s find out more about how these shoes came to be on page 2

Yes. However for every pair purchased, another pair should be provided free to the financially disadvantaged.

Global awareness begins with environmental action and is recognized through charitable consideration.

I am not suggesting that no profit should be made, however the present profit model is not sustainable.
