10 Big Mysteries Of Space

From the casual science fan to a career astronomer, these 10 mysteries of the universe still remain unsolved!  Here is the beginning of the list:

10. Rectangular Galaxy) In early 2012, a group of astronomers from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia discovered a strange rectangular galaxy 70 million light years from earth. It is not known how it could its rectangular shape but it is thought that it could have formed by two galaxies colliding with each other. If this is the case, then our own galaxy, the milky way could form a rectangular galaxy as we are due to collide with Andromeda in around 4 billion years time.

9. Fermi Bubbles. In 2010, scientists from Harvard astrophysics discovered 2 giant bubbles at the center of our galaxy, the giant gamma-bubbles measure in at around 25,000 light years each. It is thought that they might be the remnant of an eruption from a supersized black hole at the center of our galaxy, but nobody knows for sure what their actual origin is.

Let’s check out the full list with graphics in the video on page 2
