Sum Ming (“Simon”) Wong, 17, and Kin Pong (“Michael”) Li, 18, presented the design of their nifty door handle at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair on May 12.

If this works and can scale could you imagine how many colds etc. that might be prevented?  Also think about the hand sanitizer market and plastic used to make all those dispensers and bottles.  I’m not saying it doesn’t have its place but this invention could greatly reduce the need for it and help the environment as well.

Lastly, it almost seems as if medical facilities would be a no brainer use case for this product.
