And this is just a prototype for things to come.  Imagine if this pixelated surface (for lack of a better term) had smaller components, and smarter.  What if the components could act as a lazy susan and pass plates back and forth at a dining room table dinner?  Or what if it could act as an interactive chess board with opponents around the world?  Or, you could even play checkers, battleship and other competitive board games as if the opponent was there.

Or even in office furniture, the applications may be better.  Imagine desks that could have surfaces change for people’s preferences and working style.  Feel free to make any cool suggestions in the comments section on what you would do with this technology.
