Some Sharks Are Trying To Eat Through The Internets

Man they’re hungry.

In this video they show an ambitious shark trying to eat a cable.  Many years ago many people deployed lots of cables that carry the majority of internet traffic, and these lines cross oceans.  Ever made a skype call or streamed something on Netflix, well the data went through one of these.  There have even been some politicians who describe them as “a series of tubes” and the internets 😉  However, these hungry sharks are trying to make a snack out em and is a problem (a lot of bits add up haha bad internet joke)  This could be very problematic and is a growing issue.

Commenter Chase had this astute observation:

The cables probably emit a low electric field, same as prey, and that’s why the sharks bite at it.

Just my noneducational guess.

Commenter DL79 had this to say which is hilarious:

How would you react if someone would install a cable through your living or bedroom?

What do you think a humane or plausible solution to to this problem would be?  Do we need to deploy more cables and have redundant systems or potentially isolate areas of shark activity and encourage them to go somewhere else (humanely of course)?

Feel free to comment and we hope you enjoy the video.
