Commenter Tigron had this to say in general about all planets:
Though I am a bit skeptical if the martian soil is even able to sustain life, I do believe that there is life on other planets for one simple reason. Our planet, even our solar system, is nothing more than a microscopic speck in our galaxy. To say that Earth is the only planet in the entire universe capable of sustaining life seems pretty far fetched to me. Point being space is a really big place and we don’t know what’s out there.
A lot of people have that opinion. If we could get some recent soil samples from Mars collected and sent back to Earth that would explain a lot. however, that would take some incredible engineering and a fair amount of time.

If you take humans out of the equation, statues can last a LONG TIME
That’s the walking Bigfoot! How did he get on Mars?
Tuscan
Just a very small stone that formed naturally!
Big foot said the hell with America and moved to Mars
The sand-mer-people are a reclusive species of wet-concrete-like appearance, and a tendency to point, which means they have bad manners, probably sit with their elbows on the table, and are therefore terrorists, require immediate bipartisan, multi-national, support for a coalition to go after the anti-martian offshoot of ISIS, and begin resource extraction COUGH I mean rebuilding a better tomorrow. Or the next day, anyway.
Really! Old news!
